Project description:

Area in the south of Fischland peninsula

Western sea dike facing Baltic Sea, in east: insufficient flood protection system to Saaler Bodden

Design of storm tide protection to Saaler Bodden as well as connection to western sea dike:

One basic variant, three connection variants, new construction sections as well as extension of the existing dike
 

The project required a planning approval procedure as defined in § 70 (4) LWaG [Land Water Resources Act], incl. EIA for the pertaining dike and dam structures
 

Location of the planning area:

In Landscape Protection Area LSG „Boddenlandschaft", incl. stringent protection zones

Forms part of national wetland area (FnB)

Habitat of water fowl and waders as defined in Ramsar Convention

South of FFH area „Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft"

EIA implementation:

In view of the a/m protection areas – highly sensitive planning area

Determination, description and evaluation of potential project impacts

Studying and evaluation of existing records and maps

Flora-related investigations

Identification of a preferred project variant
